Greenergy Bio Refineries Pvt Ltd (GBRPL)

Greenergy Bio Refineries Pvt Ltd (GBRPL)is promoted by the Bangalore head quartered Golden group.

It intends to establish a greenfield distillery plant for producing Fuel grade Ethanol at Hanumanahalli Village, Rannebennur Taluk, Haveri District, Karnataka-581123. The Ethanol produced will be supplied to Indian Oil Corporation. The project site is located at an altitude of about 784 m above sea level. Greenergy Bio Refinery Pvt Ltd has identified around 40 acres land for project site of distillery plant. Greenergy Bio Refinery Pvt Ltd is a fully owned subsidiary of Greenergy Wind Corporation Pvt. Ltd.by the virtue of 51% share holding, which in tun is a subsidiary of Golden Hatcheries.

The objective of this project is to establish grain-based distillery plant to produce 300 KLPD of Fuel Grade anhydrous ethanol. The major feedstock for this plant shall be maize and broken rice.The area where the plant is being placed is rich in both Rice and Maize. The project will help in increasing revenue for the farmers by way of off taking huge quantity of maize and broken rice, this in turn will cause the grain prices to go up leading to huge gain for the Farmers in this region.

The project objective is detailed as follows.

  • Plant is designed to produce 300 KLPD Fuel Grade Ethanol which is a bio Fuel being produced from agro Sources. The plant operation shall be 272 days per year around 80% of capacity utilisation.
  • Plant is being set up at a cost of 240 crores investment.
  • The plant is sustainable and is being promoted by the Government of India’s ambitions Ethnol Blending policy.
  • Dried Distillers Grains with Solubles (DDGS) shall be major by-product of the plant and major market for this is for animal feed.
  • The plant shall be designed for captive power generation and will have a 5 Mw Captive power plant.
  • Plant will also produce Co2 & Fly ash as a By-product during the manufacturing process, and the same will be sold to local industries.
  • The plant will provide direct employment to 200 people in the local areas and atleast One lakh families due to off take of around 1,80,000 Tons of Maize.
  • Further the plant will also contribute heavily to the state Economy as yearly we will use more than 700000 Tons of Coal, and Ship out more than 6 crore Litres of Fuel Ethanol to Indian Oil for consumption within the state.

About the Promoters

Mr. S M Kamal Pasha

Mr. S M Kamal Pasha aged 68 years is B.A. LLB by qualification. He has experience of more than three decades in the poultry industry. He started his entrepreneurial journey by setting up a poultry farm with 500 birds. Today, the total no of birds in the Group’s farms are more than 10 lakh birds.

He has been very active in social work especially in the field of education. He has also been the founding member and Vice President of Karnataka Hatcheries Association. He has been a pioneer in the renewable energy sector as one of the early users of the opportunity presented by the Open Access Policy of Govt. of Karnataka, selling power directly to the consumer.

Mr. Syed Fahad

Mr. Syed Fahad aged 35 years has completed MBA Finance, from University of Ohio (USA). He is the Director & CEO of the Group and looks after the management of the entire Group. He started his association with the poultry business way back in 2010. He has experience of over a decade in the poultry industry.

He started the wind energy division of the group in 2011 and has been instrumental in expanding the renewable energy business to current capacity of over 175 MW. He is also the major share holder and Director of Malur Based Ovobel foods which happens to be the largest exporter of Egg powder in India.
